With new variants becoming even more contagious, effective on August 30, 2021, LMU is enforcing vaccination requirements for faculty and staff to ensure the safety and well-being of our community as we prepare to return to our campuses this fall. This requirement is consistent with public health guidance, our values, our student protocols, and recommendations from the Faculty Senate.

LMU’s updated protocols require that all faculty and staff entering our campuses (1) be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and (2) upload confirmation to Vax LMU. We will consider exemptions on a case-by-case basis for qualifying medical or religious reasons. When exemptions are granted, the university requires additional COVID-19 testing or imposes other safety requirements or restrictions. For example, faculty or staff who are granted an exemption are required to wear a mask at all times and be tested twice per week at the on-campus COVID Testing Center.

Please note: faculty or staff who fail to comply with these updated protocols will be subject to sanctions and corrective action processes. Further information about the exemption request process and sanctions are forthcoming.
