Mark Peacor

Message from the President
Dec. 1, 2020

Dear LMU Community,

I am saddened to share that Mark Peacor, senior director in Facilities Management, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 25, 2020. He was 68 years old.

Mr. Peacor joined LMU Facilities Management in 2005 as director of planning and design. He will be remembered as a talented architect who adeptly led LMU’s facilities planning and design efforts over the past 15 years. Collaborating with colleagues across campus, Mr. Peacor leveraged his expertise to translate their conceptual needs and ideas into bold yet functional working and learning spaces.

His legacy will live on at the university through his integral role in the physical evolution of our Westchester campus, including the Thomas P. Kelly Jr. Student Art Gallery, William H. Hannon Library, Featherston Life Science Building, Palm North and Palm South residence halls, SFTV Fitzpatrick Pavilion, the MarComm and University Advancement suites in University Hall, and several other renovation projects. I enjoyed working with Mark on the Dreier Suite Dining Room renovation and was impressed with his creativity and amiability throughout the design process of the LMU Playa Vista Campus.

Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced when available.

Please keep Mark, his wife, Beatriz, his sons Henry, LLS ’14, and Ralph, and Mark’s friends and colleagues in your prayers.

Sincerely,

Timothy L. Snyder, Ph.D.
President
