Crystal Wilhite

Dear LMU Community: 

I am saddened to share with you that Crystal Wilhite, a staff member in the School of Education, died on Feb. 22, 2017, due to an unexpected medical emergency. She was 32 years old.

Ms. Wilhite was the program coordinator of PreK-12 technology integration projects for the Innovation in Digital Education and Leadership Institute – iDEAL – at LMU.

Ms. Wilhite also held various roles in the School of Education, including coordinator for the Catholic Archdiocesan School Teachers Program, CAST, and the Department of Urban Education. She was committed to the purposeful integration of technology in education, and she advocated on behalf of children.

Ms. Wilhite earned her M.A. in educational studies with a focus in counseling at LMU in 2016, and she earned her B.S. in sports and health sciences at American Military University in Virginia. Prior to joining LMU in 2012, she worked in the automotive industry and in the U.S. Army. She also volunteered at local community colleges to support veteran students, lead workshops, and provide general counseling.
