COVID Safety & Campus Access Guidelines for Visitors and Event Guests

Last Update: November 4, 2021

The health and safety of our community is a shared responsibility. Please take a few minutes to review this critical safety and campus access information prior to coming to campus as guidelines have recently changed.

Before You Arrive
Prior to coming to campus, you are required to take your temperature and submit your Lion Health Check. All visitors and event guests over 12 years of age must be fully vaccinated or have received a negative result from a COVID test collected in the 72 hours prior to arrival on campus.

If you are participating in any of the following events on campus, as of Nov. 4, 2021 proof of vaccination (or negative test within 72 hours, if the individual has a medical condition or restriction or sincerely held religious belief) is required in the Lion Health Check, per L.A. City Ordinance:

  • Indoor events with external guests serving food or beverages
  • Indoor performances of any kind
  • Exhibition halls and indoor gallery exhibits
  • Indoor athletics competitions and events
  • Membership to Burns Recreation Center
  • Indoor fitness classes
  • Outdoor events with 5,000 – 9,999 guests

For those attending a listed event or activity, or if otherwise instructed by your host, you may upload your vaccination record or negativetest result in the Lion Health Check. The Ordinance applies to anyone over 12 years of age.

Per the CDC and L.A. County Department of Public Health, an individual is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or two weeks after the second dose of Pfizer, Moderna or W.H.O approved international vaccines.

Campus Access
Enter campus from Lincoln Blvd/LMU Dr using the far-left visitor lane.  You will be required to show your completed Lion Health Check at the LMU Drive gate. The completed mobile app (showing a green checkmark or green VAX) or the corresponding email confirmation will be accepted. Those who are not cleared are not permitted to accompany you on campus at this time.

Be advised that the Loyola Boulevard entrance is closed to visitors, including pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicles.

Important Safety Reminders
Wearing a mask on campus is required at all times while indoors, regardless of your vaccination status. Masks are optional outdoors, and encouraged when in large groups or crowds. You are encouraged to sanitize your hands frequently. Restrooms will be open and cleaned regularly, and hand sanitizer is available throughout buildings and learning spaces.
