Masks No Longer Required Starting Mar. 7

LMU Will Transition to Mask-Optional Protocol on March 7
In alignment with updated guidance from public health authorities, including this week’s health order from the L.A. County Department of Public Health, LMU will no longer require masks indoors on all its campuses starting March 7, though specific exclusions may apply.* LMU community members are welcome to continue wearing masks. In the spirit of #LMUTogether, please respect and honor the personal choices of community members who decide to continue wearing masks or those who decide to stop wearing masks.

*Indoor masks are still required in specific settings where public health mandates require their continued use. Presently, the following areas must continue wearing masks indoors: the LMU Children’s Center, Student Health Services, and Student Psychological Services. Other university departments or units are not authorized to set their own protocols and will transition to mask-optional on March 7.

LMU Will Soon Update Operational Protocols
In response to updated health orders and public health guidance, the university is reevaluating protocols associated with campus access, events, and other activities. Over the next two weeks, we will be revising campus signage and the LMU Together website to reflect changes in masking protocols. Later this month, we will share updates about easing additional pandemic-related restrictions if conditions in LA. County and our campuses continue improving.
