LMU Officially Reopens on July 26

07.13.21

LMU’s Westchester campus will officially reopen to students, faculty, and staff on Monday, July 26, 2021. Employees who have been working remotely should continue working with their supervisors on when they should return to the office. Further information from Human Resources regarding campus reopening will be forthcoming.

Effective July 26, administrative and academic buildings will reopen to LMU’s pre-pandemic hours of seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. OneCard holders will be able to access the LMU Westchester campus during those times using the LMU Drive or Loyola Boulevard entrances. Those approved to access campus after 10 p.m. (i.e., campus residents and employees approved to work on campus after hours), may tap in at the LMU Drive entrance. (The Loyola Boulevard gate is closed to all vehicles at 10 p.m.; pedestrians will be required to tap in.)

Please note that campus access will continue to be restricted to students, faculty, staff, and other OneCard holders (e.g. contractors) at this time; only visitors and guests who are approved by a dean or vice president are permitted on campus.

As shared previously, Environmental Health and Safety continues to work with each unit’s COVID Safety Liaison to ensure offices are aligned with Cal/OSHA and public health requirements. Details on current campus activity status may be found here. Please contact your unit’s COVID Safety Liaison with additional questions.

On-Campus Dining
Beginning July 26, campus dining venues will reopen on a rolling basis for weekday operations as follows:

  • July 26 – Iggy’s Café (11 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
  • Aug. 2 – Starbucks (8 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
  • Aug. 9 – Einstein’s Bagels (8 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
  • Aug. 23 – The Lair ( 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.)

On-Campus Events
Internal meetings and events are now generally permitted. Please note that we anticipate resuming events with external guests on Sept. 10, 2021, subject to changes in alignment with guidance from public health authorities. Presently, L.A. County is experiencing higher transmission rates due to the COVID-19 Delta variant, so please note that changing health conditions may impact events and event planning. We recommend that events include virtual or remote contingencies.

Please make event reservations with the Event Scheduling Office for the fall semester using the 25Live Scheduling Portal (more information here).
