Lions Helping Lions: Caring for Our Community in Times of Crisis

03.20.20

The LMU student experience has always been a source of pride, yet this year our students are facing an unprecedented challenge, never before seen in our lifetime. The COVID-19 pandemic put us all at a social distance, forcing the LMU campus to virtually shut down. Students have wondered how they will get home, how will they will ship or store their belongings, and how they will afford fresh produce at this time of financial uncertainty.

Please consider a gift to the Lion Emergency Fund, which provides critical resources to students faced with unforeseen hardship. Many of our students come from lower-income households and are experiencing food insecurity, unexpected travel expenses, work disruptions, and other unplanned expenses as they confront COVID-19.

To date, the fund has amassed more than $53,000 because of your generosity. Your gifts will be given in grants to as many students as possible, ensuring they do not have to make difficult choices like choosing between nutritious meals or access to high-speed internet so they can attend classes virtually.

As we navigate the challenges ahead, your gifts are making a difference in our students' lives. You prove that in these times of unprecedented disruption, we are stronger together.

Once a Lion, always a Lion.

In gratitude,

Terri Mangione, Ph.D.
Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Affairs
