Immersive Academic Experiences

LMU MELM + Rams Immersion at SoFi Stadium
In March 2025, LMU’s Master in Entertainment Leadership and Management (MELM) and School of Film and Television (SFTV) graduate students participated in an exclusive academic immersion at SoFi Stadium, made possible through the innovative partnership between LMU and the Los Angeles Rams. Held in iconic behind-the-scenes spaces—including the Rams’ Locker Room, Owners Suite, and Control Room—students engaged directly with top industry leaders from the NFL, Rams Studios,Hollywood Park and SoFi Stadium. Speaker sessions covered topics such as event production, music and celebrity management, and brand partnerships. With SFTV students supporting multimedia documentation of the experience, the day highlighted LMU’s interdisciplinary approach to career preparation, providing rare access, real-world insight, and direct engagement with professionals shaping the future of sports and entertainment.

LMU Students attend Residente Concert at YouTube Theater
In Fall 2024, students in Professor Vanessa Díaz’s “Bad Bunny and Resistance” course had the opportunity to attend the Residente concert at YouTube Theater—an experience that brought course themes of Puerto Rican identity, music as resistance, and Latinx cultural expression to life. After the show, students had the incredible opportunity to meet Residente in person, deepening their connection to both the course content and artist.
This unique opportunity was made possible through the strength of the LMU + Rams relationship, demonstrating how access and collaboration can bring academic experiences to life beyond the classroom.

In Spring 2024, Economics instructor Shirin Mollah and her sports economics students were given an inside look at the operations of the Los Angeles Rams during a two-day immersion featuring panel discussions, tours, and networking opportunities at SoFi Stadium and Rams Headquarters in Agoura Hills. Exploring topics such as player salary caps, revenue generation from ticket sales and merchandise, and economic considerations in marketing, students saw firsthand how an economics degree or minor could open a world of possibilities in professional sports, including the NFL.
