Provost Updates: Course Accesibility
May 8, 2026
Dear Faculty Colleagues,
I hope you are well. I look forward to seeing you at commencement next week.
I’m writing to share that in the coming months, the university will be sending out additional information on new tools and resources designed to better support our students with course accessibility. These tools and resources, including Panorama, which I have mentioned in email communications this year, will also help ensure the institution meets new federally mandated web content accessibility standards. Your efforts, along with support from ITS, and the work of our web team, further reflect our ongoing commitment to ensuring that all students have equitable access to the full educational experience.
To support this effort, the university will provide a brief, 15-minute training for faculty focused on accessibility practices and accommodations. The training will become available in June, and I ask that you complete it at your convenience no later than Dec. 31, 2026.
Please keep an eye out at the beginning of the fall semester for additional communications with details about the training, as well as other helpful resources aimed at fostering accessible learning experiences at LMU.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Provost@lmu.edu. I appreciate your ongoing commitment to supporting all students and helping create an inclusive learning environment.
With appreciation,
Kat
