Provost Search Update Sept 4, 2025

September 4, 2025

To: Campus Community

I hope this message finds you well. I’m excited to share an important update on our search for the next Provost & Executive Vice President.  President Poon charged the search committee with identifying the top three candidates for this pivotal leadership role, and our search has been well underway.

Since launching in June, we’ve assembled a talented and diverse candidate pool. The committee is now reviewing candidate materials to select a short-list of candidates for the first round of Zoom interviews, which we anticipate scheduling this month.  After thoughtful deliberation, the committee will narrow the pool to the top 3 candidates to invite for on-site interviews in October.  The final three candidates will engage with our campus community over a two-day visit. These visits will include interviews with the search committee, deans, President’s cabinet, Provost’s leadership team, faculty senate, faculty, students, and an all-campus open forum.

We will provide more details—including specific dates, schedules, and supporting materials—as we approach each stage. I’d like to especially thank the search committee for their continued commitment and collaboration in this meaningful process.

Warm regards,

Mairead Sullivan, MSW, PhD – Search Committee Chair
