Provost Search Update - October 3, 2025
Oct. 3, 2025
Campus Community,
I’m pleased to share an update on the search for our next Executive Vice President & Provost. The search committee has worked diligently over the past several months, carefully reviewing materials and interviewing candidates. From this process, the committee has recommended three exceptional finalists to President Poon.
Each finalist will be visiting campus this month for two full days of meetings with key groups, including the Search Committee, Deans, President’s Cabinet, Provost Leadership Team, Faculty Senate Executive Committee, student (ASLMU) leadership, and President Poon.
Importantly, there will be open forums where the candidates will present their perspectives on the role of the Provost in shaping the future of higher education. Faculty and staff are invited to attend to meet the candidates, ask questions and share your impressions.
The forums are scheduled as follows:
- Candidate 1: October 15th | 10:15-11:15 am | Ahmanson Auditorium
- Candidate 2: October 22nd | 10:15-11:15 am | Ahmanson Auditorium
- Candidate 3: October 27th | 10:15-11:15 am | Ahmanson Auditorium
At each forum, a brief survey will be available via QR code so you can provide anonymous feedback directly to the President about each candidate.
Thank you in advance for your participation and thoughtful input in this important process. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any member of the search committee.
Warmly,
Mairead Sullivan, MSW, PhD – Search Committee Chair
Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies
