 JASON VIEAUX is expanding the definition of “Classical Guitarist” and changing the face of guitar programming, building a solid audience and fan base along the way. His ever-growing reputation for putting his expressive gifts and virtuosity at the service of the music earns him an active schedule of solo, chamber and concerto appearances around the US and abroad. Mr. Vieaux is a regularly featured guest with orchestras across the United States. He has performed as concerto soloist with the Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland Pops, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, the Auckland Philharmonia, Santa Fe Symphony and San Diego Symphony, working with such conductors as Miguel Harth-Bedoya, Luis Biava, Jahja Ling, Rossen Milanov, Stefan Sanderling, Gareth Morrell, Steven Smith and Carl Topilow.


Aside from his duties as a performer, Mr. Vieaux is highly dedicated to the art of teaching. He currently resides in Cleveland, Ohio, where he is Head of the Cleveland Institute of Music Guitar Department, making him the youngest Department Head to serve at the prestigious conservatory. He is also affiliated with Philadelphia-based Astral Artistic Services.

PAVEL STEIDL was born in Rakovnik (Czech Republic). Since he won first prize at the Radio France International Competition in Paris, he has become one of the most widely celebrated soloists of his generation. His highly expressive performances of rare 19thcentury guitar literature on authentic instruments add a wonderful dimension to his already exceptional performances.


Mr. Steidl also composes, and his compositions are often performed on his concerts. Pavel Steidl has performed in more then thirty countries including Canada, Cuba, Spain, Poland, Austria, Costa Rica, Mexico, Guatemala, Australia, Japan, England, Scotland and many others. On demand of Italian Guitar Magazine Guitart, his name appeared among eight of the most important guitarists of 2003.

 Brian Head enjoys a vibrant, frequently frenetic career as a guitarist, teacher, and composer, performing as a soloist and collaboratively with many groups including the Los Angeles Philharmonic and their New Music Group, the New World Symphony, Le Rossignol, inauthentica, Jacaranda and Xtet. Brian’s own compositions have been performed for many years throughout the U.S. in venues including Merkin Hall in New York, the Ambassador Auditorium in Los Angeles, and the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., and abroad in such cities as Tokyo, Berlin, Madrid, Mexico City, Montreal, Sao Paulo, and Dubai. His music is published by Alfred Music and Guitar Solo Publications, and has been recorded on Delos, Denon, Digital Revolution, GSP Recordings, Massax Productions and TelArc. One of his recent pieces, an homage to John McLaughlin called We Know You Know, was part of the 2005 Grammy Award-winning Guitar Heroes album by the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet.


Since 2001, Brian has held a dual appointment on the Classical Guitar and Composition faculties as a senior lecturer at the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California where he maintains an active guitar studio, lectures on a wide range of subjects, and directs the undergraduate music theory program. Since 2004 Brian has led the Guitar Foundation of America, as its president.

 Born in Marseilles (France) in 1978, Gaëlle Solal began studying guitar at age six with René Bartoli. At 14, she won 3 gold medals at the Conservatoire de Marseilles and as best student of all instruments, was awarded the “Prix de la Ville de Marseille”. She then studied with Alberto Ponce at Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Paris, Roberto Aussel at Musikhochscule Köln (Germany) and Alvaro Pierri at Université du Québec à Montréal (Canada). She followed masterclasses with Leo Brouwer, Pepe Romero, Alvaro Pierri, Antigoni Goni, Roland Dyens and Oscar Ghiglia.

An avid performer, Gaëlle has performed in festivals all over Europe, North America and Asia. She has recorded for NHK, France Musiques, RFI, and RAI. She appeared as a soloist with the Berkeley Symphony, the Garde Républicaine Orchestra and the Philharmonic Turin Orchestra. Since 2004, Gaëlle is appointed instructor at the Superior Conservatory in Seville (Spain).

 Hube rt Käppel ’s unique interpretations and virtuoso technique have set the standard for the whole guitar world. Hubert Käppel was born in Cologne in 1951 and studied guitar with Konrad Ragossnig and Oscar Ghiglia in Cologne and Basel. He was the only German guitarist ever to win the International Interpretation Competition in Gargnano, Italy (1978). Since his exciting transcription and recording of J. S. Bach’s sixth Partita for keyboard, he has been touring as a soloist, with orchestra or chamber music ensemble, throughout Europe, the USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Mexico, Cuba, Africa, Japan, Russia and Asia.

Mr. Käppel has given concerts and master classes in many international music and guitar festivals and has often sat as a jury member in the major guitar competitions. He has made numerous recordings and live appearances for many national and international Radio and TV networks. Several CDs have been released by Zweitausendeins, GSP San Francisco, FSM Exaudio and MARA Records. For a number of years Professor Käppel has given a most successful course at the Musikhochschule of Cologne, producing many international prize winning guitarists.

 It is impossible to watch the Eden Stel Guitar Duo without being bowled over, not only by their natural abundance of virtuosic brilliance, but also by their gift for communication with their audience. This passion for the guitar and their evident delight in performing brings the music vividly to life whether it be a baroque harpsichord transcription or a new commission. After graduating from the Royal Academy as recipients of the Principal’s Prize for Achievement and the Julian Bream Prize they continued their studies in Brussels with the Brazilian Guitar Duo, Sérgio and Odair Assad, with the aid of the Worshipful Company of Musicians.

As winners of the Park Lane Group’s Young Artists’ Concert Series and the South East Musicians’ Platform they have given recitals at the Purcell Room and the Wigmore Hall, and have subsequently been invited to perform there by music organizations such as ‘Live Music Now!’, the Kirckman Concert Society, and Classical Guitar Magazine.
