Summer Session FAQs
Is it possible to see how the pandemic plays out before canceling in-person, on-campus courses for summer?
Based on media reports and statements from various levels of government, plans for loosening restrictions that prevent the spread of COVID-19 will be gradual and dependent on dynamically changing circumstances. It is unlikely that we will be able to return to pre-COVID campus operations in time for summer session I. LMU chose the path that best supports our students’ academic plans and ambitions.
Why was my course canceled?
There are several possibilities. An instructor’s availability may have changed; a department, school, or college may have determined a different strategy for its summer offerings; the course may not have met the minimum enrollment guidelines; etc. Students are encouraged to reach out to their academic advisor if they have questions or want to discuss their course plans.
How do I apply for financial aid to take a summer course?
Students attending one or both summer sessions may be eligible to receive financial aid to assist with costs. LMU has established the Summer 2020 Financial Aid Program to provide institutional aid to undergraduate students interested in taking summer courses. Students may apply here.
