Jaime Ballesteros, a master’s student in LMU’s School of Education, and 2012 graduate Yara Hidalgo were among the nine teachers honored by the White House on July 24 as “Champions of Change” for being strong role models and for their commitment to education.

The team of students from the Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering took top honors at a regional student design contest, where they were asked to build a robot capable of carrying food or other supplies across rough terrain.
