Director, First Year Experience
Jennifer Belichesky-Larson is an alum of California State University at Northridge, Loyola Marymount University and University of California at Los Angeles. She received her B.A. in English Literature from CSUN in 2000. She then went on to LMU where she received a Master’s Degree with a double emphasis in English Literature and Rhetoric in ‘03. After LMU, she pursued second Master’s Degree in Higher Education and Organizational Change at UCLA. Jennifer started working at LMU in the Fall of 2002, first as a Teaching Fellow, then as an Adjunct English Professor, and now as the Director of First Year Experience. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, and dreams of becoming the world’s next Scrabble champion!
Engagement and Assessment Coordinator, First Year Experience
AJ LaPan, originally from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, has a bachelors of arts in Psychology and Communication from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He then received his Master’s of Arts in Higher Education & Student Affairs at The Ohio State University. AJ came to Loyola Marymount University in the fall of 2007, and worked as the Resident Director for Del Rey North. His passion for helping first-year students led him to become the Engagement & Assessment Coordinator for First Year Experience. In addition, AJ enjoys a variety of service opportunities by being involved in LMU’s Alternative Break program and as the moderator for Sursum Corda. In his spare time, he enjoys live music, traveling, and attempting to one day run a marathon.

Mary Plumb, a native of upstate New York, holds a BS in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University. She has worked as a Process Engineer in both Transducer Product and Military Electronic Systems Operations at General Electric in Syracuse, NY. From 1990 – 93 she served as the Director of Women’s Engineering Programs at the University Of Kansas. In 1999, after moving to Binghamton, NY with her family, she began work with the DOE funded program GEAR UP through the Binghamton University Research Foundation. Mary started at LMU in October 2006 and moved to Parent Programs in July of 2007. She is married and has 3 children. In her spare time she enjoys baking and cooking, gardening, crafts, sewing and traveling.
Administrative Assistant, First Year Experience
Jennifer Ellspermann is an alum of Loyola Marymount University (Class of 2009). She is currently pusuing her degree in the Creative Writing Program at the University of Southern California. She worked in the office of First Year Experience as a Coordinator for three years prior to becoming the Administrative Assistant. In her spare time she enjoys crocheting, baking, reading, and watching movies with friends and family.
