ATHLETICS & RECREATION

In addition to LMU's athletics program, Campus Recreation promotes the education of the whole person by providing the LMU community with programs and services that develop an understanding of physical activity and exercise. We encourage a healthy lifestyle and lifelong interest in recreational activities.

The Burns Recreation Center offers personal training, swim lessons and more.

ACTIVITIES & SERVICE

There are over 140 active clubs and organizations and a Greek community with 15 local chapters. Our students volunteer more than 175,000 service hours a year with 350 community organizations.

Open Mic Night at The Living Room brings out the best talent on campus.

HEALTH & WELLNESS

The Student Health Center and Student Psychological Services are open to current students in an effort to make life on campus a safe and healthy experience. In addition to these services, the Fitwell Center offers nutritional guidance and personal fitness assessment.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT

Whether you're looking for an on-campus job as a student or need advice preparing for your career after graduation, Career Development Services is designed to help you succeed.

Career Development Services offers career counseling by appointment or drop-in.

Housing

Traditional Halls, Suites, Apartments and Theme and Living Learning Communities are home to the many students who live on campus. For those who chose to live off campus, The Off-Campus Student Life office helps students stay connected to campus life.

More than 3,200 students live in 19 residence halls and apartments on campus.

Eligibility

Upward Bound serves a total of 50 students. Once admitted into the program as 9th or 10th graders, it is expected that students will remain active participants through high school graduation. As participants graduate, additional students are recruited to maintain the 50- student maximum. To be eligible for Upward Bound, a student must be:

Low-income, as defined by the US Department of Education Federal TRIO Programs 2008 Annual Low Income Levels;
Potential first-generation college student (neither parent has earned a Bachelor's degree);
A U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

In addition:

2/3 of project participants must be both low-income and first-generation.
1/3 of project participants must be at a higher risk of dropping out of high school.
Most importantly, students must have the desire and potential to attend college, and must commit to work towards that goal.
