SUSPICIOUS PERSON
LMU Community Members should be aware of the following alert:
The LMU Department of Public Safety received information of a suspicious-looking male who has been following female students in the Westchester neighborhood. The male has been observed in the vicinity of 80th-83rd Streets between Loyola Boulevard and Chase Avenue.
The complainants described the male as being Caucasian or Hispanic, 160-180 lbs., 5’10”-6’ tall, and wearing casual clothes such as jeans, a white t-shirt and a gray hooded sweat shirt. Additionally, the complainants observed a white Chevy S-10 truck at location of one of the incidents.
The Department of Public Safety encourages students to take the following precautions:
- Walk with others whenever possible.
- Park and walk in well lit places; avoid shortcuts that are not well lit.
- If someone drops you off at home, ask the driver to wait until you are safely inside.
- Stay alert and be aware of everything and everyone in the general vicinity.
If you feel that you are being followed on or near campus, call 911 or DPS at 310-338-2893 for assistance or a Safe Ride home. DPS also offers on-campus escorts if you feel unsafe.
