Lions for Learning

Lions for Learning is an off-campus program offered by Career Development Services, aiming to increase the quality of learning for young minds. The program employs LMU work study student tutors to assist with in-class and after school programs at a variety of elementary schools in and around the Westchester/Los Angeles area.

Lions for Learning provides LMU work study students with hands on experience in a school environment, as well as the opportunity to develop professional and social skills in a diverse setting while building strong community ties. Lions for Learning tutors serve as role models and mentors while helping school children develop reading and math skills.

We have established a great working relationship with these schools within our LMU community:
  • Cowan Elementary
  • Kentwood Elementary
  • Loyola Village Elementary
  • Paseo Del Ray Elementary
  • Westport Heights Elementary
  • Wish Charter School
  • Moffet Elementary
  • Nativity School

The Lions for Learning program operates out of Career Development Services in Room 201 in the Malone Student Center at Loyola Marymount University.
