CAREER EXPLORATION

Career Counselors assist undergraduate, graduate students and alumni (in person or over the phone) over the course of the career development process with a variety of services and resources including major/career decision making, job searching strategies, interview skills, resume development, career/personality assessments, graduate school advising and much more.

Find the perfect work-study postition, get work on or off campus, or learn more about on-campus recruiting.

Many LMU students participate in on-campus recruitment fairs.

INTERNSHIPS (Discover, Explore and Succeed)

Discover, Explore and Succeed is the model used to ensure that LMU students DISCOVER what career planning resources are available to develop and implement a personal career plan. EXPLORE through internships their potential careers before graduating. Finally, SUCCEED in putting into practice the theoretical knowledge learned in the classroom and apply their academic training to solving real-world problems.

LIONS FOR OTHERS

Lions for Learning is an off-campus program provided by Career Development Services aiming to increase the quality of learning for young minds. The program employs LMU student tutors to assist with in-class and after school programs at a variety of elementary and middle schools in and around the Westchester area.

Career Connections: Internship & Job Fair

This large-scale career fair is open to all students and alumni from all majors. This event will provide an ideal opportunity for student to gain valuable information about your organization and to explore career opportunities.

Education & Non-Profit Fair
Wednesday, March 7, 2012 · 3:30pm-6:00pm · University Hall Atrium
Representatives from various school districts, schools, programs, and non-profit organizations visit LMU to let students know about career opportunities in the education and non-profit fields.

Etiquette Dinner
Wednesday, April 11, 2012 · 5:30pm-8:00pm · The Hill, 4th Floor of Malone
Host a table of 8 at this event which teaches dining business etiquette.

On-Campus Interviewing
Do you have full-time or internship postings in which you are interested in hiring for? Interview on campus in the Career Development Services office. Our interview rooms are equipped with a phone and internet office, so that you may make this your office for the day.

Information Sessions & Information Tables
Information Sessions: Recruiters from a variety of industries can visit the LMU campus to share information about their organization, job opportunities, and interview process. Employer information sessions help students develop their networking skills, increase their industry knowledge, and learn more about the skills and experiences that employers look for in candidates. Information Tables: Recruiters have a table on upper campus and are able to pass out recruiting materials to students passing by during convocation hour. Undergrads, graduate students, and alumni are welcome to attend.
