Promote Yourself

  • Further you involvement in clubs, organizations and associations, and take on leadership[ roles, chair a committee or run for office.
  • Reintroduce yourself to employers and recruiters at Career Connections Internship and Job Fair to maintain and further develop those relationships and connections.
  • Start requesting references and letters of recommendation from faculty, staff and supervisors.
  • Develop career skills to build a job search strategy; enhance interviewing skills conducting a Mock interview; write your Cover Letter; update your resume with assistance of a Career Counselour

Professional Experience

  • Intern. Intern. Intern. Complete an Internship Agreement with the CDS Internship Specialist.
  • Consider the future - what is your goal after graduating? Begin developing a strategic plan, and determine the steps to reach that goal with the assistance of a Career Counselor.
  • Maintain your existing network while working to expand you connections through jobs, mentors, campus connections, etc.
  • Continue to participate in student organizations and community service activities.
  • Interview through the CDS On-Campus Recruiting program to secure senior internships and/ or other professional opportunities.

Develop Options

  • Consider Graduate School - attend the CDS Graduate School Fair to meet representative and gather information to formulate early application plans.
  • Review Post-Graduate Service Options - attend the Education & Non-Profit Fair and Post-Graduate Service Dinner.
  • Seek campus leadership opportunities to develop your skills and interests, take a Leadership Institute Course, contact Student Leadership and Development.
  • Study Abroad - check out opportunities in the Study Abroad Office
  • Attend Employer Information Sessions to learn about employers. corporate culture, career paths/ options, etc.
