Explore Yourself

  • Learn about your skills, strengths, values and interests by taking career assessments given by Career Counselors at CDS
  • Explore opportunities to assist faculty in research and projects in your major to enhance your education
  • Meet with your academic advisor to identify courses that will enhance your professional development
  • Schedule an appointment with CDS's Internship Specialist to explore opportunities in experiential education and mentoring programs to find a fitright for you

Advance Experience

  • Maintain, update and continue to use your LionJobs account to access internships, part‐time and full‐time job opportunities, both on and off campus
  • Attend career events such as Career Connections Internship & Job Fair,
  • Information Sessions, Workshops in Professional Excellence, Industry Events, Employer Info Sessions, etc.
  • Develop a network through clubs, organizations, employers, staff and faculty. Use them as resources for information about careers, majors and opportunities
  • Conduct Informational Interviews and shadow experienced professionals and alumni; find a mentor
  • Join student professional associations related to your major

Develop Strategic Resources

  • Learn about Study Abroad opportunities for your junior year
  • Consider applying to participate in an Alternative Break through the Center for Service and Action; volunteer for meaningful service
  • Search for more ways to be involved, to gain more experiences, develop skills and expand your network
  • Update and gain feedback on your resume ensuring you are incorporating your skills, experiences and accomplishments in the most effective format.
