Leadership Experiences

Gavel Club

Gavel Club is a meeting of all chapter presidents at LMU.  Occurring biweekly, Gavel Club focuses on building stronger relationships with chapter leadership, community dialoging, calendar planning, and leadership development. This experience is only open to chapter presidents.

Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute

(UIFI) UIFI is a 5-day institute sponsored by the National Interfraternity Council (NIC) each summer. Men and women from around the nation gather in one of ten locations to internally and externally evaluate themselves and their chapters to determine their own values as they relate to their chapter and the Greek community as a whole. Applications and information can be found at www.nicindy.org or at the Greek Life Office in Malone 120. LMU Greek Life provides one free registration each year to a sophomore or junior member of a registered fraternity or sorority at LMU.

National Order of Omega

The National Order of Omega was founded in 1959 at the University of Miami and was charted locally in 1991 to honor students at LMU who have attained a high standard of scholarship and interfraternal leadership. Students who wish to join the Order of Omega must have at least a cumulative 3.5 GPA and high campus and chapter involvement.

The Association of Fraternal Leadership & Values (AFLV)

The Association of Fraternal Leadership & Values exists to stimulate the growth and development of fraternity/sorority council and chapter leaders by promoting leadership, educational, and values based experiences and resources for student leaders, their advisors, and the larger fraternal market. The annual conferences are the premier programs of the Association.  The conferences offer comprehensive coverage of the issues for both men and women and members of all councils and chapters. More information can be found at www.aflv.org or at the Greek Life Office in Malone 120.

Fraternal Values Society (The Society)

The Fraternal Values Society exists to provide a home for members of fraternities and sororities who WANT to forward the values conversation within their community, but don't know where or how to begin the conversation. The Fraternal Values Society provides a voice to the values movement and creates a sustainable network within each fraternal community for those who want their fraternal experience to be representative of the founding fraternal/ethical values of our organizations. As of 2011, LMU was chartered as the Delta Chapter of The Society. More information about The Society can be found here: Fraternal Values Society
