Class of 2015: Serve LA
Your Service Experience at LMU Begins Now
ServeLA is an annual event organized by the Center for Service and Action that connects incoming First Year students with community service and the non-profit community in Los Angeles. For the past six years, incoming students have participated in a variety of service projects such as beautification projects at nearby elementary schools, prepared meals for women in shelters, cleaned local beaches, organized care packages for the elderly, sorted food donations and organized carnivals and fun activities for children. These service projects have provided first year students with opportunities for exposure and awareness to the issues faced by our society. The nonprofit organizations offer LMU students with ongoing volunteer opportunities so students may continue to get involved and connect to an issue that may stimulate an interest and develop an unwavering commitment to service and justice.
ServeLA 2011 will serve as the official kickoff to the Freshmen Service Project that will connect each First Year residence hall to a non-profit organization.
