Orientation 2009
At the beginning of every school year OISS hosts an orientation for all new and present international students that are about to begin another fun filled year at LMU. Orientation involves going to popular places around Los Angeles, such as Disneyland, attending certain sporting events, such as Dodger baseball games, as well as hosting international social's, complete with food, music, and friends.
Super Sushi Social
This Fall marks the 10th annual Super Sushi Social dinner sponsored by OISS, and hosted by the residents of the International House. This is a part of LMU connect, and is put on with the Service and Action House across the street, who hosts “Just Desserts.” Students and staff from the LMU community will typically come to the IHOP for the gourmet sushi dinner and then head across the street for some dessert! This is a great opportunity to meet residents of both houses.
International Education Week/World Fest
“Escape. Experience. Explore." is the theme for the 7th annual “World Fest.” This series of events is sponsored and collaborated by Campus Ministry, Study Abroad, Ethnic and Intercultural Services, Campus Recreation, Asian Pacific Student Services, National and International Scholarship Office, International Outreach, Mekwa, Korean American Student Association, Peer Mentors, Pangaea International Club, The International House of People, and the Office for International Students and Scholars. International Thanksgiving Dinner
This is an annual tradition sponsored by OISS. The dinner introduces the American Thanksgiving tradition to international students, staff, faculty and their guests! This dinner is hosted in appreciation of the staff and faculty who provide services for the international student community.
Spring Welcome Back Dinner
This dinner is put together by the OISS staff to welcome new International students and staff who join LMU in the Spring semester. It is also an occasion to welcome back all continuing international students, staff and faculty from the winter break. It’s our way to bring together all the new and continuing international community at LMU.
