Submitting a Room Condition Form
The Room Condition Form (RCF) is your opportunity to report the condition of your room at move-in so that you are not billed for pre-existing damages when you check out. For Fall move-in, RCFs will be due by August 27th. Students who do room changes throughout the year will have 48 hours from their date of move-in to complete their RCF.
If you do not complete the Room Condition Form, your room will be considered in an acceptable condition and you will be responsible for all damages upon your departure!
Roommates and Common Areas
You and your roommate(s) share responsibility for the condition of the entire room. You will be able to see items they enter on the RCF, and you should work together to ensure all damages in your room are reported. Suitemates also have a shared responsibility for reporting the condition of the common areas in a suite or apartment. You will be able to see what they enter for those areas, and you must work together to ensure that everything is reported. You can only edit items that you personally enter, so talk with your roommate/suitemate if one of his/her entries needs revision. Please remember that when damage charges are assessed at move-out, roommates are billed equally unless one person accepts responsibility in writing. The same is true for all residents of an apartment or suite when damage charges are assessed for the bathroom, living room, or kitchen.
Submitting Changes
You may edit any of your entries on the RCF until the specified deadline. Please consult with your roommates when making changes.
Verification
Each item that you enter will need to be verified by your Resident Advisor (RA) or Resident Director (RD) during the two weeks following your deadline to complete the RCF. You may still be charged for damages reported on your RCF if staff members determine that the damage was caused by you or your roommates after check-in. Keep in mind that any inappropriate use of language on your RCF or misuse of the online system will be referred to Judicial Affairs.
