To ALL Special Games Fanatics!
Special Games wants YOU to join in the fun and excitement! Now is the time to begin the initial preparations to be a part of the 33rd Annual LMU SPECIAL GAMES. Our new committee is looking forward to the upcoming year and we are looking forward to working with you.
Prior to the actual “BIG DAY”, athletes from various agencies and the surrounding community will gather for Saturday practice. Each athlete is paired with a coach and is a member of a team consisting of approximately eight to ten athlete/coach pairs. The athletes will participate in a variety of events and games such as basketball, bowling, arts & crafts, and so much more!
Special Games is open to adults and children with both physical and mental challenges. It is non-competitive and there is NO COST FOR THE ATHLETES. However, there are requests we must make: YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION FOR YOUR ATHLETE, AS WELL AS A SACK LUNCH FOR THE PRACTICE DAY. LUNCH IS PROVIDED ON “BIG DAY.”
We really hope your athlete will be able to participate in this year’s games. Unfortunately, due to the fact that we have a limited amount of athletes we can accommodate, we highly recommend that ALL pages of the enclosed Athlete Contract be completed and returned as soon as possible.
