TLC@LMU
The Learning Community
EMPOWERMENT, COMMITMENT, ACHIEVEMENT...
The TLC@LMU Program is an integrated and comprehensive approach to making students' college transition and first academic year a positive, empowering, healthy and productive experience. The program is a forward-thinking, participatory, and proactive approach to freshmen retention. TLC@LMU is a unique learning community that includes current students, faculty, university administrators, staff, alumni and parents.

The TLC@LMU Program consists of two primary elements:
OVER THE SUMMER...
You will spend three intense weeks on campus, prior to the start of school. This will help you become familiar with he campus and its resources, and give you a leg up on the rest of your class. You will also experience a realistic look at college life and get out into the Los Angeles area for "cultural capital" building exercises, community service projects and much more.
DURING THE FIRST YEAR, FALL AND SPRING...
You will take a one-unit course about LMU, develop a personal leadership profile, attend a leadership retreat with past TLC@LMU classes, receive individualized attention and advisement, get invited to special engagements and be provided with numerous academic and social opportunities.
