Intercultural Summit
The Intercultural Summit is a full day cultural workshop facilitated by LMU's students. This workshop is designed to assist high school students to understand and manage inter-ethnic conflicts on their campuses. Additionally, the Summit encourages dialogue and promotes progressive social action. The summit is an opportunity for high school students to participate in discussions and activities aimed at creating better cross-cultural communication and acquiring a greater appreciation of culture and diversity.

Approximately 200 high school students from the surrounding community.
SPONSORSHIP:
The Summit is designed and facilitated by Loyola Marymount University students enrolled in Liberal Art 292 “The Practicum in Interculturalism.”
PURPOSE:
The Intercultural Summit is intended to help high school students understand and manage inter-ethnic conflict on their campuses. Additionally, the Summit encourages dialogue and promotes progressive social action.
GOALS:
1. Promote honest and open discussion about issues of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender.
2. Help students begin to formulate ways to constructively manage inter-ethnic conflict.
FORMAT:
All workshop sessions are interactive and have been developed to help participants share their perspective, learn from each other, and develop a plan of action to facilitate positive change at their schools.
