EIS Goals 

1. Advocate on behalf of students of color
2. Create a welcoming and supportive environment for African,  African American, American Indian, Asian, Asian American, Pacific Islanders, Latino, and multiethnic students.
3. Create a climate of intentional interaction and collaboration between individuals and groups.
4. Develop leaders for positive social change.
5. Enhance student learning and personal development.
6. Foster Greater awareness and appreciation for diverse cultures and cultivate an intercultural community based on respect and understanding.

EIS Programs & Services address the following Student Affairs Learning Outcomes:

1. Adopt lifestyles that reflect a balance of spiritual, physical, and intellectual health.
2. Become engaged members in the University community.
3. Demonstrate an understanding of the diversity of the human experience and embody the ideals of interculturalism.
4. Develop a well-defined sense of self and confidence in their abilities and gifts.
5. Develop personal accountability, good judgment and independent thinking leading toward a balanced life.
6. Educate themselves about contemporary social justice issues and strive to create a more just society.
7. Integrate knowledge and experience in the process of discernment to make life-giving decisions.
8. Know the availability of University resources and access them when necessary to enhance their success as University students.
9. Take initiative to make meaningful contributions as citizens within and beyond their communities.
10. Value the opportunities for exploration and growth created by participation in this diverse University community.
