The Campaign for LMU

Current economic conditions highlight the value a well-equipped, comprehensive and robust Career Development Office plays in supporting our students, alumni and community. CDS is a current priority in Right Place. Right Time. The Campaign for LMU. It is paramount we reach our goals to ensure we stay relevant to the needs of our constituents.

Whether it is your first job out of college or a mid-career reassessment, CDS provides resources to explore a career path that will align with your life’s ambitions.

We serve as a conduit between the campus and employers; building

LMU graduates stand out from the crowd

relationships within the greater Los Angeles area and beyond. We align the preparedness of our students with the workforce needs of our employers; positioning LMU graduates as the employers’ candidates of choice.

CDS prepares LMU graduates to succeed in a dynamic, global workforce impacted by economic, political, environmental and world affairs.

Campaign Goals

Invest in Innovative Program Development $100,000
CDS wishes to expand its programming beyond the current format and to add senior symposiums, career education conferences, formal mentoring opportunities and Alternate Break programs to its scope. The expansion of innovative programming is the answer to a challenging and constantly changing hiring environment. This programming is vital to opening and deepening the network between students, alumni and employers.

Invest in Social Justice Internships $ 100,000
Internships often serve as an entry point to a career. Internships encouraging our students to explore non-profit and government agencies that incorporate outreach to underserved communities are in direct harmony with LMU’s mission. These internships acknowledge the need to attract qualified, thoughtful, and driven professionals into the non-profit field.

  Career Development Services

A career is defined as a chosen pursuit; a path or course that challenges the individual to contribute to a total organization vision; the lifetime commitment necessary to distinguishing oneself as an accomplished professional.

Invest in a Physical Environment that Supports a Culture of Excellence $ 50,000
CDS seeks physical and technological environments that appropriately compliment today’s workplace. Increased outreach efforts to Los Angeles based, regional and national employers will generate physical and technological needs that cannot be met with current facilities. The goal is to create and provide physical and technological resources that enable efficient and meaningful engagement and communication between LMU students, alumni and employers.
