CONTRIBUTIONS TO OUR PROFESSION
The National Student Employment Association (NSEA) is supports and promotes student employment through research, publications, professional development opportunities, and the open exchange of information.
LMU’s Professional Student Employment Services (SES) staff have presented Best Practices Workshops at the 2005 and 2006 National NSEA Conferences.
An NSEA Research Grant was awarded to LMU’s Student Employment Services Office in 2007, for studying the impact of the student employment experience on the retention and engagement of first time, first year students.
The National Student Employment Association recognized an LMU student with the 2006 California Student Employee of the Year award for her accomplishments in her work-study job.
The Western Association of Student Employment Administrators (WASEA) support and promote student employment through research, professional development and the exchange of information. WASEA is one of four regional associations represented by the National Student Employment Association.
LMU’s Student Employment Services (SES) office has hosted the Student Employment Essentials Training conference; a three-day conference designed to teach skills critical for a successful student employment program.
LMU’s Professional Student Employment Services (SES) staff serves as State Liaison for the Southern California region.
The Mountain Pacific Association of Colleges and Employers (MPACE) is one of five regional affiliations of the National Association of Colleges and Employers. The mission of MPACE is threefold: to provide leadership in identifying and responding to issues, changes, and trends affecting career services and college relations, to serve as a resource for professional training and development of members and facilitate the exchange of ideas and information, to develop, promote, and advocate professional and ethical standards and procedures in career services and college relations.
LMU’s Career Development Services (CDS) Staff have presented workshops at regional MPACE Conferences and served on Conference Planning Committees as members and subcommittee co-chairs.
The National Association of Colleges and Employers is the leading source of information on the employment of the college educated. The professional association connects more than 5,200 college career services professionals at nearly 2,000 college and universities nationwide, and more than 3,000 HR/staffing professionals focused on college relations and recruiting.
LMU’s Career Development Services (CDS) has been recognized for excellence with the 2000 NACE Chevron Award. The award is presented by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and the Chevron Corporation for innovative programming in the career services field
The California Cooperative Education & Internship Association is the leading regional professional association of educators and employers dedicated to managing and supporting college-level internship and cooperative education programs.
