'Mane' Course: Dining With Alumni

2009-2010 Mane Course Dinner Dates:

▪ Sat., Nov. 7, 2009
▪ Wed., Mar. 10, 2010
Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR. .

Program description:

The concept of the Mane Course dinners is simple: local alumni host dinners on campus for students. This program is designed to make meaningful connections between students and alumni, offering program participants an excellent opportunity to establish new relationships. The alumni and student program participants will be selected by the Alumni Association. A group of students will request to be seated with alumni who interest them - same major, career interest, similar LMU activities, inspirational life path.

What is expected of alumni hosts:

Your willingness to facilitate conversation and get to know the students at your table will allow the students to learn from your experiences. Share your stories, talk about yourself and what you do, how LMU impacted you, and ask questions of others. Bring your business cards and, IF you're comfortable, make yourself available during the weeks and months following the dinner. Click here for our FAQ page.

What is expected of student participants:

Your willingness to interact with the alumni hosts could prove invaluable to you now, and later on in your life. Possible topics of conversation that you might initiate include: What is the most fulfilling aspect of your work?, What is the most important thing for me to focus on if I want to be successful?, What was the most fun thing you did while a student at LMU?, How do you remain connected to LMU as an alum? We expect you to meet submission deadlines, prepare for the dinner by reviewing the materials that will be provided for you, and dress accordingly. Please click here for our FAQ page.
