The MAAA 24th Annual Scholarship dinner was held on November 18, 2005 and over 420 people attended the event. Because of the outstanding response from participants, the venue was moved from its original location of Roski Dining Hall to The Atrium. Over $635,000 was raised in support of the scholarship program. This year's honorees include the following: the first ever Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Julio M. Torres `57, Alumni Role Model Honoree- John A. Aguilar '81; Community Service Honoree- Rueben Martinez; and student honoree recipients: Merrifield Scholar- Lauren Tait '06; Henry Cisneros Scholar- Cecilia Torres Rubalcava '06. Plans are already underway for the 25^th Anniversary Dinner which will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2006. New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson will be the keynote speaker.
