African-Americans have had a presence at Loyola University, Marymount College, and Loyola Marymount University throughout the past seventy years. LMU’s African-American alumni are successful entrepreneurs, educational leaders, government officials, distinguished judges, science and engineering pioneers, and acclaimed artists. They are leaders in health care, aeronautics, viticulture, retail grocery outlets, entertainment, banking and finance, international affairs, technology, athletics, real estate, and journalism.

Currently, there are more than 2,400 undergraduate and graduate African-American alumni who have graduated from Loyola University, Marymount College, and Loyola Marymount University. Roughly 85% of LMU’s African American alumni live and work in Southern California and more than 70% live and work in Los Angeles County. 74% are graduates from 1990 – 2010.
