THE SUMMER CREATIVE WORKSHOP

The Summer Creative Workshop is an intensive two-week program in film production and animation. Participants are students from Crenshaw High School’s New Media Academy. This program was launched July 2006 with 12 students who attended LMU classes everyday from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Half of the students are aspiring filmmakers and the other half are animators.

Crenshaw High School was selected to be a part of the program because it already has students interested in careers in film production and animation. The program allows students from underserved communities to experience college life while exploring their artistic passions. LMU has formed a partnership with Crenshaw High School and the donor to carry out this project. All project related activities take place on the LMU campus.

12 students participate in this program annually and the approximate cost is $50,000.
