  • Why Playa Vista?

    Playa Vista is a focal point of Silicon Beach's hub of tech innovation and creativity and complements LMU's aspirations for global imagination and global impact. We have longstanding strategic relationships and industry partnerships within the Playa Vista community. As we continue to strengthen immersive and interdisciplinary opportunities and career pathways, our students and faculty members benefit from being embedded in Playa Vista's culture and vibe.

  • When is it happening?

    We will begin offering classes at LMU Playa Vista Campus in the fall 2018 semester.

  • What parking and transportation options will be offered?

    We will run a continuous shuttle between the main campus and LMU Playa Vista Campus. For your convenience and to help mitigate LMU's traffic impacts in the area, you may continue parking on the main campus and utilize the shuttle service.

  • Will SFTV be split up?

    No, SFTV will continue operating as one school in two locations, with the undergraduate programs on the main campus and most of the graduate programs on LMU Playa Vista Campus.

  • Other than SFTV, who will use the Playa Vista space?

    Most of the remaining space not occupied by SFTV in Playa Vista will be multi-purpose and available to the university community for academic and creative activities and events. Space usage will be assigned to support student learning and to enhance LMU's engagement with Playa Vista.

  • What will the hours be?

    LMU Playa Vista campus will observe similar hours to our main campus. We anticipate scheduling classes during similar day and evening times.

  • How are we paying for LMU Playa Vista Campus? Will our tuition increase?

    We do not anticipate tuition increases because of this initiative. Revenues for the lease will come primarily from strategic enrollment increases in our undergraduate and graduate populations. Substantial resources will be reserved to support the education of these students.
