IISSAM Scholar Projects Submission Deadline

We invite you to attend the International Institute for SoTL Scholars and Mentors (IISSAM)  May 31- June 3, 2012. IISSAM is organized by LMU on behalf of a consortium of universities. IISSAM will feature stimulating keynote presentations, thought-provoking discussions, hands-on activities, SoTL workshops, and the opportunity to meet colleagues with similar interests and creative ideas.  Individuals or teams may propose a project to be mentored or they may attend as active participants at IISSAM 2012.

The Deadline for Scholar Proposals is January 30, 2012; registration opens March 2012. We hope that many LMU faculty will participate and contribute to this conference.

The topic for IISSAM 2012 is The Ecology of Teaching and Learning. We will explore what roles teaching and learning can play in helping students assume responsibility for the world we live in. Ecology and the role of teaching and learning will be explored from different theoretical and applied perspectives, benefiting from LMU’s leadership in SoTL, in teaching and research in Urban Ecology (CURES), and access to the Ballona Wetlands
