An 18-month program designed to provide a quality education to individuals wishing to become certified as an Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) counselor. Classes prepare students to take the IC&RC given by the California Certification Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CCBADC). This program is approved by CFAAP/CAADAC and it is consistent with the requirements for certification by CAADAC's certification organization the CCBADC. |
Classes
Professional enrichment courses for alcohol and drug counselors, licensed mental health professionals, medical physicians, teachers, and other health care specialists. The Alcohol and Drug Counselor classes offered by LMU, Extension are highly valuable to individuals wishing to work in hospitals, drug courts, treatment centers, community based organizations, schools, and government agencies. Mental health professional and registered nurses may take the classes to satisfy continuing education requirements. This program is approved by CFAAP/CAADAC and that it is consistent with the requirements for certification by CAADAC's certification organization the CCBADC.
Admission into the certificate program requires: A completed application, completion of high school or GED, at least an 8th grade writing ability and attendance at an Information Meeting.
The next Information Meeting for new students will be held on July 28, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in University Hall room 1859. There will be additional meetings throughout the summer.
