The 2000 Democratic Party national convention was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, from 14 August through 17 August 2000. The nominee for president was then Vice-President Albert Gore and for vice-president, Connecticut senator Joseph Lieberman. LA Convention 2000 was the private corporation specifically created to bring the convention to Los Angeles, and David Geffen, Eli Broad, and William Wardlaw served as its co-chairs. LA Convention 2000 and LA HOST were responsible for hosting the convention. The Los Angeles law firm of Reed and Davidson served as the legal representative for these two organizations, jointly known as LA 2000. The law firm gave the records of the 2000 Democratic National Convention from LA 2000 to the CSLA Research Collection in 2006. The run of records is incomplete, though, since Reed and Davidson retained some materials for legal reasons.
