Campaigns
This school year in 2007-2008, Heads UP has started a poster campaign which incorporate statistics regarding drinking behaviors and attitudes among the First Year students. The data was collected from dorm floor surveys that were conducted in September of 2007. The purpose of this poster campaign is meant to demonstrate that there are large discrepancies between student's injunctive norms (assumed behaviors and attitudes) and descriptive norms (actual behaviors and attitudes) about drinking among First Year students. The campaign is meant to help increase knowledge, thus encourage responsible drinking decisions and reduce risk.
In the past, Heads UP has created posters that are not specific to First Year students, but are generalized to the entire student body. The posters include statistics about campus drinking and are meant to contribute to the development of a campus environment that raises knowledge and can therefore help reduce the risk that is often related to irresponsible drinking behavior.
