William Fitzgerald Summer Grants

The purpose of this award provides support for undergraduates in the academic programs of the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts to take part in a volunteer/Internship program during the summer months.

The award includes a $5,000 stipend and an award notation on the student’s official LMU transcript.

  • Students must be majoring in one of the academic programs in the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts.

  • Students must be a sophomore/junior to apply.

  • Students must be in residence at the Westchester campus for the entire 2007-2008 academic year.

  • Two awards will be given.

This summer grant will place a student recipient as a full-time volunteer/intern for eight weeks with a non-governmental organization that works for education and/or public service in Los Angeles or elsewhere.

If awarded a grant, the student agrees NOT to accept other outside summer employment during that eight weeks.  The student recipient will coordinate with a representative from The Center for Service and Action.  In the fall, the student will present a report of this activity at a public forum for that purpose.
