"One of the best measures of our success as a university is what our students are able to do after graduation and who they become."
— LMU Strategic Plan

Everything you learn at LMU — how to take risks and push through challenges, how to make friends and work well with a team, how to do good work while doing good in the world — will serve you richly in the life you make after LMU.

An LMU education takes students almost anywhere, to do almost anything. As soon as students set foot on campus, they are able to take full advantage of extraordinary professional opportunities throughout the city of Los Angeles – one of the most vibrant and diverse cities in the world. Internships and off-campus jobs expose students to real-world work environments that help them connect classroom learning to their future career aspirations. See examples of what our students are doing through our Student Profiles Gateway.

Career & Professional Development begins working with students from the moment they enroll at LMU, collaborating with faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and employers to create innovative programs that help students clarify their career goals, build confidence, and make the connections necessary for achieving post-graduate success.

Faculty enhance student learning by bringing the classroom to employers. The adjacent neighborhood of “Silicon Beach” in Playa Vista is home to over 500 technology start-up companies, including global giants such as Google, YouTube, BuzzFeed, AOL, and Yahoo! The entrepreneurial spirit and energy of Silicon Beach is endless, as are the opportunities for students to connect and engage with the employers who reside there.

The return on investment for an LMU education goes well beyond financial. Rooted in the Jesuit tradition, LMU’s commitment to service and justice fosters learning that allows Lions to see themselves in others. This is exemplified by the sizable number of alumni who pursue work in organizations such as Teach for America, the Peace Corps & Jesuit Volunteer Corps.

An LMU education cultivates the habits of heart and mind that lead to the development of the whole person – professionally and personally.
