Marymount University
is proud to host its LA Leaders, LMU Distinguished Alumni award reception on
Thursday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. The reception will be held at the California Club
in downtown Los Angeles.
The event was established to celebrate LA area alumni who live
the LMU mission in inspiring ways. Honorees are recognized for their
distinguished professional accomplishments, leadership in their field,
humanitarian service to their community, and loyalty to LMU. One of this year’s
honorees is Forescee Hogan-Rowles ’80.
Hogan-Rowles currently serves as president and chief
executive officer of Los Angeles’
first public private partnership nonprofit economic development corporation,
Community Financial Resource Center (CFRC). CFRC is the only comprehensive
financial services center dedicated to servicing the needs of distressed
communities in Los Angeles
County.
A native Californian, Hogan-Rowles has more than 13 years of
micro enterprise and community economic development experience and management
consulting locally and nationally for organizations such as the Aspen
Institute, the Coalition for Women’s Economic Development and the
California Association for Micro-Enterprise Opportunity.
Hogan-Rowles also holds several national certifications and
volunteer board seats with for-profit and nonprofit corporations, including the
City of Los Angeles Board of Water and Power Commissioners, the Gas
Company-Community Advisory Board, and Comerica Bank-California-Community
Advisory Board. Under Governor Schwarzenegger, Hogan-Rowles has been appointed
to serve as a member of the California Commission for Economic Development.
