Loyola Marymount University is proud to host its LA Leaders, LMU Distinguished Alumni award reception on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. The reception will be held at the California Club in downtown Los Angeles.
The event was established to celebrate LA area alumni who live the LMU mission in inspiring ways. Honorees are recognized for their distinguished professional accomplishments, leadership in their field, humanitarian service to their community, and loyalty to LMU. One of this year’s honorees is Forescee Hogan-Rowles ’80.
Hogan-Rowles currently serves as president and chief executive officer of Los Angeles’ first public private partnership nonprofit economic development corporation, Community Financial Resource Center (CFRC). CFRC is the only comprehensive financial services center dedicated to servicing the needs of distressed communities in Los Angeles County.
A native Californian, Hogan-Rowles has more than 13 years of micro enterprise and community economic development experience and management consulting locally and nationally for organizations such as the Aspen Institute, the Coalition for Women’s Economic Development and the California Association for Micro-Enterprise Opportunity.
Hogan-Rowles also holds several national certifications and volunteer board seats with for-profit and nonprofit corporations, including the City of Los Angeles Board of Water and Power Commissioners, the Gas Company-Community Advisory Board, and Comerica Bank-California-Community Advisory Board. Under Governor Schwarzenegger, Hogan-Rowles has been appointed to serve as a member of the California Commission for Economic Development.
