Fellowship Narratives
Fellowships are processed through the ORSP just like any other grant application. Even though some fellowship funders will not require that a faculty member work through the University, it is important to do so for the following reasons:
- Fellowship awards may require the Chair or the Dean's office to change academic plans.
- Fellowship awards may require negotiation.
- Fellowship awards may not fully cover the 50% gap of income during a sabbatical year.
- If a fellowship award is paid directly to the faculty member, s/he may incur tax liability.
