Congratulations to recent LMU awardees!
Stephanie August, Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (Seaver College of Science and Engineering), and Michele Hammers, Assistant Professor of Communication Studies (College of Communication and Fine Arts), were awarded $149,603 by the National Science Foundation through Innovations in Engineering Education, Curriculum, and Infrastructure (IEECI) program towards establishing a Virtual Engineering Sciences Learning Lab.
Magaly Lavadenz, Professor of Language and Culture in Education (School of Education) was awarded $ 100,000 by the National Security Agency through the National Foreign Language Center at the University of Maryland through its STARTALK program towards her Chinese Language Teacher Preparation: Summer Institute for 2009.
Rebecca Sager, Assistant Professor of Sociology (Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts) received a $88,010 award for her work on The Role of Religion in Social Movements and Scholarships through the Visiting Fellows: Christian Thought and Practice Program at Princeton Universities Center for the Study of Religion Fellowship.
Maureen Schaukowitch, Faculty (School of Film and Television) was awarded $ 15,000 by AMPAS to continue her work on Visual Storytelling While Staying Grounded in Humanism, Innovation, and Diversity.
