National Science Foundation
Informal Science Education
The INFORMAL SCIENCE EDUCATION, (ISE), program invests in projects that develop and implement informal learning experiences designed to increase interest, engagement, and understanding of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) by individuals of all ages and backgrounds, as well as projects that advance knowledge and practice of informal science education. Projects may target either public audiences or professionals whose work directly affects informal STEM learning.

USC
Sea Grant
SEA GRANTS and the California Ocean Protection Council (OPC) are specifically seeking projects that respond to the OPC'S overarching priority - an ecosystem-based approach to the management of marine systems. Projects of interests should help develop the methods and tools that authorities require to develop appropriate management regimes.

Research in Undergraduate Institutions (RUI)
The Research in Undergraduate Institutions (RUI) activity supports research by faculty members of predominantly undergraduate institutions through the funding of (1) individual and collaborative research projects, (2) the purchase of shared-use research instrumentation, and (3) Research Opportunity Awards for work with NSF-supported investigators at other institutions.

Course Curriculum and Laboratory Improvement (CCLI)
The CCLI program seeks to improve the quality of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education for all undergraduate students. The program supports efforts to create new learning materials and teaching strategies, develop faculty expertise, implement education innovations, assess learning and evaluate innovations, and conduct research on STEM teaching and learning. The program supports three types of projects representing these different phases of development, ranging from small exploratory investigations to large, comprehensive projects.

Major Research Instrumentation (MRI)
The MAJOR RESEARCH INSTRUMENTATION (MRI) Program seeks to improve the quality and expand the scope of research and research training in science and engineering, and to foster the integration of research and education by providing instrumentation for research-intensive learning environments.

Small Grants for Exploratory Research (SGER)
The SGER program funds small-scale, exploratory, high-risk research in the fields of science, engineering and education normally supported by NSF. Investigators are strongly encouraged to contact the program officer prior to submission to ensure that their project meets the guidelines.

Center for Theology & the Natura Sciences (CTNS)
Science and Transcendence Advanced Research Series (STARS)
Planning and Research Grants
Science and Transcendence Advanced Research Series (STARS), a program administered by the Center for Theology and the Natural Sciences seeks to sponsor research by small teams of scientists and humanities scholars on the ways science, in light of philosophical and theological reflection, points towards the nature, character, and meaning of ultimate reality. The goal of STARS is to sponsor research by small teams of scientists and humanities scholars on the ways science, in light of philosophical and theological reflection, points towards the nature, character, and meaning of ultimate reality. Priority will be given to young scientists with outstanding potential who are relatively new to interdisciplinary research.

United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Environmental Education Grants Program
The goal of the ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION GRANTS PROGRAM, (EE) is to support projects that enhance the public’s awareness, knowledge, and skills to make informed and responsible decisions that affect environmental quality. To be considered EE, a project must be based on sound science and promote environmental stewardship.
