Magaly Lavadenz and Elvira Armas: The CEEL Team
Many on campus have heard of Magaly Lavadenz, Director of the Center for Equity for English Learners (CEEL), particularly with her recent $1.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of English Language Acquisition for Project STELLAR. Not many outside of the School of Education have heard of Elvira Armas (pictured), however, the Associate Director of CEEL.
“It would be impossible to do what we do without Elvira,” explains Lavadenz, citing her talent, skill, experience, and exemplary work ethic. “I have never met anybody who has Elvira’s qualifications.”
