The Leavey Center for the Study of Los Angeles

Projects & Reports

The Center for the Study of Los Angeles produces a wide variety of scholarly work, from journal articles, presentations, and studies to commissioned volumes regarding Los Angeles and its prominent members. The three largest ongoing projects at the Center are Los Angeles Votes (a series of exit polls surveying voters in the city of Los Angeles), the LA Riots Anniversary Study (a series of telephone surveys of residents in the city of Los Angeles in five year increments after the 1992 Riots), and the Leadership Initiative (a ten sector approach to studying leadership in Los Angeles). In addition to these three projects, CSLA researchers also study a variety of topics affecting Angelenos such as demographic trends, redistricting, polling place accessibility, race/ethnicity studies, quality of life, and more.
