David Quimbayo
David
Quimbayo is currently an undergraduate History student at Loyola Marymount
University and has been a student research assistant with the Center since
2008 and additionally a Rains scholar since 2009. After participating in LCSLA's 2008 Presidential Exit Poll, he joined the
student staff and has since worked on a variety of projects, most notably the
political sector of the Leadership Initiative. This project includes
identifying the elected officials in the top 300 positions in California over
the past 50 years, researching their ethnicities, and compiling one of the
first datasets of its kind to track the inclusion of minorities into top
political positions.
While
attending Loyola Marymount University, David participated in the 2008 APEC
Conference as a student delegate in Lima, Peru, interviewing business and
political leaders from 19 economies. He also took part in LMU's Sacramento
Seminar course, in which students travel to the State Capital to get a
first-hand look into the Politics of California. His future interests include
studying international law and business.
