Prior to becoming a Research Scholar at LCSLA, Stephen Nuño worked in
various capacities as a Research Consultant and then Research Associate
with the Center. He has been co-researcher for a number of studies
here, including the Los Angels Riots: A 15 Year Retrospective and
Leadership Initiative projects; the 2006 New American Exit Poll in Los
Angeles (a three-city project between academic institutions and
community organizations), in which he conducted secondary analyses
using LCSLA data; and the 2005 Los Angeles Mayoral Election Exit Poll,
for which he was also project director.
Dr. Nuño has served as a private consultant on several research
projects focusing on Latino political behavior for several
organizations. He is currently an assistant professor in political
science at Northern Arizona University. He has a Ph.D. in political
science from the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Nuño’s research has been published in Political Research Quarterly,
Urban Affairs Review, PS: Political Science, The International
Encyclopedia of the Social Sciences and American Politics Research.
